Description:
Boron carbide also known as B4C, is smelted from boric acid and powdered carbon in electric furnace under high temperature.
Features:
Boron carbide has the features: high strength, low density, corrosion resistant, high temperature resistant, low thermal conductivity, high modulus of elasticity.
Application:
Boron carbide is widely used in cutting tools for hard metal and abrasive tools, refractory industry, ballistic armour and relative products, rocket propellant in aerospace industry, nuclear industry, making boric metal for example titanium boride boric steel etc the models and dies of ceramic tools evaporating boat andparts. Boron Carbide also is widely used for lapping, polishing and further processing precious jewel etc.
